Mainbeam morons I have lost count of the idiots i have seen driving around with lights on main beam , the standard of driving and the shear ammound of dribbling wits on the roads makes me want to hand my license back to the DVLA

Police cars seen this week (covering from portsmouth to plymouth to barnstable)

A big fat 0

no wonder the roads are becoming a free for all.

seen 3 scamera vans though and may have been caught by one of the bastards

Not only main beam morons, but brand new car drivers that don't realise that one beam appears to be completely out of line and is only good for illuminating the moon!

Grrrr

I would go out and dobb some of the chavs for you tomorrow, but I'm keeping my head down...

The results of my Motorway Section Road Policing interiews are in just over a week, with a start date 4th Oct...

Any complaints that I get in the meantime that require investigation will mean my start date in the department will be extended

Lots of letting old women cross the road and paperwork for the next month or so....then I'll be back at 'em..

Must admit that this is one of my pet hates. However, anyone who has driven a Saab 95 will know that the main beam indicator on the dash is very subtle and easily forgotten.

True DTM - not always so obvious when you meet oncoming traffic - especially if the guy coming the other way has incorrectly adjusted lights.

I notice more and more people driving after having a front end bump (oh eer missus) which completely screws-up their headlamp adjustment. Completely blinding.

Also, a lot of the newer Zenon-bulbed cars are in my opinion far too bright. I drive an already low car which has been lowered further. It's torture! God knows how poor sods in things like Caterhams must feel!

Don't write off the Cayenne until you've driven one. I was cynical as hell until I drove one around Brands Hatch - an amazing vehicle!

i drove from southend to selsey bill via bexley and the amount of cops i saw on the whole journey (inc. return) was 0 (journey start = 1530,return journey start = 0100) - oh sorry, there was the land rover at the qe2 crossing but that was parked up doing nish.

in southend we have been having little scrotes going around in a car shooting at toddlers with a .22 air rifle IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!.......amount of police seen patrolling in cars/on foot in the southend area (outside of a weekend when the boy racers are about on the front)= 0.

in the local paper a retired ex-cop has come forward to say that the morale of essex cops is at an all-time low.....oh feckin diddums!,how do you think us poor schmoe's feel?,we pay x-amount towards an invisible cop service that is useless....if they actually got off their arses, did the jobs they are paid to do and actually show a visible presence (rather than just the 'town beat' car) and maybe the public might not treat them with so much contempt and start to look up to you all again.

with no cops on the road we may aswell get used to seeing horrifying crashes, increases in roadrage to the point where there will be alot more 'kenneth noy' type incidents, there will be even more uninsured/unlicensed/untaxed/unroadworthy vehicles and drivers on the road than now (if thats possible).idiotic padestrians have become totally suicidal by just walking off the kirb and expecting you to stop (which i dont) even though not 5ft from them there is a pelican crossing.

now, concerning the 'air rifle/toddler' thing....what are we expected to do?......leave everything to the non-showing,non-working police and the antiquated, shagged out judges who operate from their own interpretation of the law and giving a pathetic sentence......or deal with it 'up close and personal'??............tbh i hope the cops dont catch the scrotes who have been shooting todlers, they will find them hanging (as-in 'noose round neck) around shoebury if (or should i say 'when') the local lads get hold of them!

Just got back...

Aberdeen - Brighton

Distance - 560 miles

time - 6hr 45

Speed - enough

Cops seen - nil

Chances of getting caught - Zero (Cycle rack obscuring rear plate - Front plate appears to have fallen off during journey (bloody fox near Aberdeen))

Obviously I have just made this up, as I would not wish to incriminate myself on a public forum.

Especially with a heated screen, you get allsorts of dazzle.

Re The Cayenne, it is (like the 911) a triumph of engineering over common sense

try it on a smart car old chap...
(you have to either have a degree in gynowotisname or remove the front panel off the car entirely to replace a bulb)
