Becker 7945 ipod Connection
Discussion
I have a 7945 installed in my porsche 996, works great for phone and nav but does not have ipod connectivity. I believe you need to update the software to have this functionality, but I don't want to spend the money and find it does not work. Can anyone recommend an incar installer who specialises in Becker?
Thanks

I have an Indianapolis 7925 and just purchased an iPod kit. It's an interface which plugs into the back. If you can, get a v4 interface as it will charge the iPhone 4S. It works well with standard iPods, iPod touch, nano etc, but if you use an iPhone with iTunes Match enabled on it, it goes crazy.
This is what I purchased, they are getting very rare now!

Good retailer, too. Ordered on Monday afternoon, was in my hands on Wednesday.
eBay has lots of Becker interfaces from other makes, but the official unit is the only one which will show track names on screen. The others are just CD Changer emulators.

Thanks for the response.
The problem I have is the connector only works with software versions 2.5 and above and mine 1.5 i think. I have not checked online recently but last I looked you could upgrade but it was expensive so did not want to spend the money and find it did not work, hence I was looking for someone in the UK who would work on Becker units.

I believe your unit runs CD based maps, is that right?
If so, there are plenty of v7 maps for the Indianapolis floating about the net - the first thing they do when you stick the disk in is to update the unit software - happened with mine as when I purchased it, it only had the v1 maps. That will cover you for putting the ipod interface on the car.
