Not quite sure where to put this but mods feel free to move to somewhere more appropriate....

A very close female friend of mine runs her own driving school in North London. Last Sunday, she had a knock on her door from two blokes who had seen her car in the driveway and asked if she was a driving instructor. She answered yes and made an appointment with them for a couple of starter lessons on Tuesday. She called me afterwards as she was a little concerned about them. My reply was be careful, not all Romanians are crooks but if you are concerned, make sure you have all of their details and insist on going to the home address on their provisional licence. She then called them back on the number she was given and confirmed home address, licence address etc and that she would meet them there on Tuesday afternoon.

Forward to Tuesday. She is on the way to the address when she receives a call from one of the blokes. Could you meet me at a different address? As he is still at the 'other' drivers house. So she heads there and meets them. They meet her at the kerbside and she asks to see licences etc. One of them has 'left it inside the house' so gets out and goes to get it. Meanwhile, she swaps places with the bloke so he is now in the driving seat, going over the controls. The other bloke appears back at the passengers window. I guess she had one of those 'instinct' moments. She attempted to open the door with the guy in the drivers seat saying no, just wind the window down. She says no and opens the door and pushes the guy outside slightly away with the door.

The guy outside then proceeded to launch a cowardly attack on her. Perhaps 10 full punches to the face, neck and upper body. Only stopped as a couple of passers by heard the commotion.

Result? 3 broken teeth, 3 golf ball sized lumps on her face and head, bruised shoulders and neck.

It could have been worse, I guess. Thank goodness she got out of the car.

I do hope that they are caught very soon but just a warning to you all out there, my guess it is a new ruse that the cowardly scum from that particular country have decided upon.

I will keep you updated on the investigation and any progress in finding these people.

A chap I know had something similar happen to him in Southall a couple of years ago. They think driving instructors are carrying lots of cash so therefore the motive I believe.
In his case it was two Somali chaps. Nearly killed him.

As Big_Dog has guessed, I suppose. But I think they needed to keep her in the car. She fooked it for them when she got out. She always keeps her bag/valuables in the boot so at least they couldn't get to them.

She's getting on ok. Still a bit shook up but out doing lessons all day. The lumps have gone down but she is now sporting two monster black eyes. Luckily she has a fantastic dentist and she spent most of the day on Friday getting them capped/ repaired. The Police have been fantastic too.

Absolute scum though.

Good God. I can only presume cash and maybe trying to take the car straight out of the country for sale?

Anyway, best of luck to your friend. I wish her a quick recovery.

hope your friend feels better soon and the police catch these scumbags.

as mentioned above, they probably wanted the car as these days instructors buy flashyer, more expensive cars to keep ahead of the competition.

Were they having a driving lesson together? If the 2nd bloke was having a lesson she'd have to get out for him to get in if it was a 3 door. If it was 5 door why didn't he get in the back? Why not let her get out and just drive off?

Have the police had any luck with either of the addresses? Did she see the 2nd bloke go back into the house?

Yes, 2 blokes each wanting a lesson. My guess is that they wanted her to wind the window down and then have once outside the door and one sitting next to her. Not much she could have done after that. I suppose they panicked when she got out. The Police are investigating both addresses and looking at the mobile number given to her. Obviously a pay as you go but perhaps, at some point, a card of some sort was used to top it up. She didn't see the other one go into the house as the guy on the drivers seat was going over the car controls with her.

Horrible, what bds, I hope they get what's coming to them, maybe deported, plus more. Hopefully this doesn't stop your friend from carrying on her profession.

Or perhaps. Decent border control. Why are we letting people like this into our country? It's not good for us and unfortunately tars the good law abiding immigrants with the same brush

I don't care of their nationality, they could of been english smackheads. These people need to be killed, they are animals, i hate to get caught up in the emotion of it but this is another example of humanity slowly bleeding away its worth on the planet.
