In your car history, what's the most miles you've covered with a single car, and why did you change (if you have)?

Only been 30k for my with my E21 316,changed as I fancied a change. Only done 10k in my E38 and now doing 15k per year, so if I keep it for a while it'll soon become the current car.

Honda Accord Sport cdti - took it from 6k to 90k in three years. Started spending too much money on maintenance. Most cars I change every 3 years, at about 80/90k.

I assume you ran the Accord Type S and the diesel concurrently?

68,000 in an Alfa 146Ti.
Serviced properly twice in that period. Cambelt to double the recommended interval. Driven through an estuary, into some pointy Welsh geology, overloaded and ground out with regularity, parked by the sea for weeks/months on end, used as a van for filthy mountain bikes, thrashed around Mid/North Wales...

Yet it kept going.

God I miss that car frown

30k in my e36 328i. In all that time it cost me 2 rear tyres and a new bottom hose. Literally that was it!

Nah, it was a typo- the diesel Accord was a '55.
