Getting caught back up.
Discussion
Does anyone else feel like an idiot when a car catches you up when you're stuck at a set of lights or in traffic and you overtook them sometime earlier on? On my way to work this morning I overtook a couple of cars, only then to be caught up by one of them a mile further on, when I got stuck at a red light. I just knew he was sat in his car thinking "see it doesn't get you anywhere any quicker".

Yeah I have even had people point and laugh!!! Hysterically!
What they don't realise is its not about getting anywhere sooner. Its about having more fun in getting there. So although we are both sitting at the lights at the same time, I got there having a lot more fun!!!

hooning where there are traffic lights?
Pirbright bends on the way to Woking. I bet the bloke in the Suzuki Swift who had previously pulled out in front of me (really badly I might add - brown trousers time) and then proceeded to give me the bird and make coffee beans signs at me for the next few miles* certainly regretted that light at the end being red
I had a quiet word. He was "very sorry" and "won't do it again".
- I made no reaction whatsoever, no histrionics, flashing lights or whatever. I fail to understand what his reaction was about. Very odd encounter.
When the lights turn green accidentally slip the clutch stalling the car, by the time you manage to get the car running again you've just enough time to get through as the light begins to turn amber.
Unfortunately those cars that caught you back up will just have to wait for the lights again whilst you head off into the distance

You'll get to the next traffic lights first, and the next, and the next. And you won't have to wait for them for any other overtaking opportunities.
I wouldn't be bothered, sooner or later it tends to pay off.
This. And when you come across the next member of the 40 everywhere club you won't be stuck behind two of them.I wouldn't be bothered, sooner or later it tends to pay off.

No - because you were behind and now you're in front so you have got there quicker.Plus you are no longer following a dawdling fool.
