Ride Drive

Any one done one of these Ride Drive sessions? Good? Bad? Did you learn alot from it? I'm booked in to do a half day tommorrow in the Griff (weather permiting!!!!!!) and would be interested in feedback/tips etc from anyone. Cheers.

I had a full day ride drive earlier this year. Had a fantastic time and learnt a lot.

I had a half day course about two months ago and it was excellent, he tailored the course to what i wanted to learn and gave me plenty to practice once it was over. You also get to drive on some fantastic roads!!

It was about the hottest day of 2003 - mid august and Tom forgot to bring a hat or any sun block - he knew it was a Griff too!!!

Well worth the money, you come back more confident and safer, but still enjoy your car doing what it should do.

Its amazing how quickly you can shift past traffic on country lanes using the police-style positioning and observation for overtaking

I'm planning a "top-up" half-day once I get my Cerbera as it was that useful before.

I did a half day earlier in the year round the streets on Oxfordshire. Fantastic experience, learnt loads and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would really recommend it. I plan to go again soon.

I did a half day session in April - definately recomended. Only thing I would say is that it would be worth looking seriously at the full day (including airfield/cones etc). My half day was great, but all on the roads and mostly reinforcing earlier training (I've done IAM a while ago).

If you have not done any advanced training before, then the half day will be money well spent. If you have already done IAM/ROSPA etc, then perhaps consider the full day. I'm certainly thinking of the full day sometime soon, but I'm guessing that a lot of the road driving will be repetition from the half day I already did.

Did the half yesterday afternoon, luckily the weather stayed good all afternoon, so had a really great time. Haven't done any advanced driving before so found the experience a real eye opener. By the end of it I was taking the twisty roads completely different than I had before and overtaking much more efficiently, which was absolutely brilliant. I was pretty knackered by the time I got back and it was good to relax and reflect on what I had been taught.

The guy taking me out was really cool too, being a police officer he obviously didn't endorse speeding, but equally didn't pass comment if I happened to go over a bit on the country roads where there was clearly no apparent danger. I definitely would like to do another half day at some stage, but for now I'm going to build on what I've learnt.

We've both done several of their days - absolutley recommend them without question.
