Not a GT3 I'm afraid.
It's a C2 in metallic viola with grey leather 43k
With aerokit
sports pack
18in sports classic II wheels
ali gear & hand brake
white dials
3 spoke steering wheel
sunroof
Seller said it has a sports exhaust. it wasn't listed on the spec given to me by Porsche GB and I thought it wasn't included in the 'sports pack'. perhaps retro-fitted?
It passed an OPC inspection yesterday and I agreed a price of little over £33K.

i have to say i think used 996's -like yours - are fantastic value for money. you have a lot of car there - something amazing for noddy money. i've been driving mine to work for the last few days and deliberately taking a 25 mile route in when the normal route is only 8 miles, just because it's a great drive. you'll have stacks of fun in it i'm sure. they are the best cars.
you'll have to work hard not to enjoy it !
ps... get the sports exhaust. i have a switchable exhaust on mine. the dogs...

TKD congratulations, it looks great with a nice spec. (that all important sports suspension as well) & a fair price. I am sure you will grow to love it, it's not just a car, it's a 911 !!!In 98 Porsche didn't offer a factory fit sports exhaust, so it wouldn't be on your VIL, it was probably fitted later, you will know if it has one once you get the pedal to the metal. Enjoy!

I've heard of 2 ways to remove badges:
One is to 'saw" through the adhesive using some floss fibre. The remaining adhesive can then be removed with a solvent - but careful with the paint.
Another I heard of is to use hot water to soften the adhesive and then lift it off.
Both sound a bit risky to me. I'd call a local Porsche dealer. They have to do this from time to time - debadging cars for owners and replacing stolen badges too.

We use to use a hair dryier or (carefully) a hot air gun at a bodyshop I once worked at
I used my Dealer
Told him I wouldnt buy it unless he removed the Faux GT3 badge...
Duely Removed and Carrera Badge Back
Congrats TKD, I was similar in wanting one before a certain age.
Nice feeling.
[quote=TKD]I'll be asking very soon the best way of removing/replacing the badge on the back with a carerra one, which I'd prefer (well actually I'd prefer to replace the engine with a GT3 lump and leave the badge where it is!)
Fantastic TKD, Beautiful car, very happy you intend to remove the badge, the car is awesome in itself it doesnt need to pretend to be what it isnt!
