Overseas Resident insuring UK registered Aston for driv

Dear Pistonheads massive, Please help:
My uncle has a Land Cruiser and an Aston Martin V8 Coupe which he keeps here in Scotland (UK). He is resident in Bermuda and is struggling to find any insurance company (either here in the UK or in the EC) that will provide him with insurance cover so he can drive the cars here in the UK.
It seems that UK insurance companies now seem to insist that all policy holders for UK motor insurance policies for UK registered vehicles are resident here in the UK.
Anyone have any experience with this or found a solution?
