Viewing tomorrow: 2005 X-type 2.5 manual
Discussion
Hi folks. I'll be calling in to a garage on my way home from work tomorrow to view an X-type that I like the look of, and thought I'd ask the knowledgeable folks amongst you on what to look out for.
From speaking to the dealer I've gleaned that;
It's been in the local area since new.
It has a FJSH.
2 owners.
Full leather, 18" Aruba alloys.
A rather fetching mid blue.
Manual
'05 plate, 42k miles.
Oh, and it's screen price is £4990.
Aside from the usual generic checks, is there anything in particular to look out for?
Thanks in advance

Check tyre wear on inner fronts, X types love front inners, turn wheels full lock.
As mentioned transfer box and prop whine, bushes. Check door locking mechanism, if a door activator is dodgy the car will set the alarm off and open itself!. At 42k see if any paperwork for a replacement transfer box, I have an 06 2.5 Sport and the transfer box went at 48k, you are looking at more than 1k to fix.
If you can, get a jaguar diagnostic box on the car to show up any previous errors.
I've had 2 X type 2.5 sports from new great cars, engines,gearbox, interiors fine, transfer box is the weak spot on another wise fine car.
That car should retail between 4-4.5k, room to negotiate
