Looking for something to test a little theory I have, for which I need a really nice compact heater unit - the simpler the better, as long as it has a matrix a motor and a neat package, I'll be happy. Did I mention needs to be very cheap to?!

If it's just to test a theory, could you not use a 12V hair dryer? Available from camping shops for about £15.

Or is the matrix part of the theory you need to test?
I did this in my first race car, and it worked a treat! Just bonded on some flexi hose, same hose we used for the brake ducts and put some holes in for the screen. Cheap and effective way of sorting the problem

LOL what a great idea!!! Never thought of that!

This is more of a full heating system though, and yes the matrix is part of the test.

That compact little one looks lovely but I was thinking more second-hand-off-ebay cheap than £105 (which is more than half the amount I paid for my car hehe )

In that case the Mini (the original one, not the BMW) always used to be the traditional choice for a compact heater unit in kit cars. I don't know how available they are these days, though.
Yeah that's what I have been looking for, seem to be quite few and far between for a decent one!

If this is for a car that will have to go through IVA then be aware the heater must not draw air from the engine bay.

Never knew that, thanks Steve! Fortunately nigh on impossible in this application (beach buggy) lol.
