Vantage Sports seats

I can only just fit in my Vantage and have to force the steering wheel up a bit further than it wants to go so that I can get my leg under it.

I seem to remember hearing that the sport seats give a bit more room for taller drivers. Has anyone gone from one to the other who can share their impressions? Any downsides?

Can they be retrofitted? How much would new sports seats cost? Do they ever come for sale used?

I think perhaps you are confusing sports seats with lighweight seats ? Sports seats are the standard seats, lightweight seats are the carbon shell option seats. Unless early 4.3s had some different seat to sport seat ?

Assuming you do mean lighweights, there are many threads on here discussing the matter - it's a £3k (ish) option on a new car and IIRC, in the region of £10k for a replacement upgrade on an existing car........

Yes, I meant lightweight seats. £10k sounds a bit steep. Don't think I'll bother!

Probably cheaper to trade your car in against one that has the lightweight seats already fitted.

not surprised ! It's effectively not a viable aftermarket option - your only slime hope (short of changing your car) is someone that buys a s/h car with lightweights decides he doesnt want them, but I've never seen them on the market s/h

I wonder who manufactures the seats. I don't really want to mess around with after market seats. I seem to recall someone modifying the seat support to get them to go a bit lower. I might be making that bit up.

Nope I was quoted £11k on my last roadster
They are A LOT less adjustable and do still sit quite high I have very little room to get my legs under.
I actually think the standard seats get you lower

They are Recaro SPA derived for road use
OP look at Cobra Milanos as a retrofit
