V8V Roadster -anyone get water ingress?

Greetings - only had the car a few weeks, but twice after some heavy rain I've noticed the driver's seat belt is pretty wet when I pull it out (passenger one is bone dry)

Car is parked on a slight uphill so I can experiment by reversing up instead.

I'd guess the issue might be an internal drain somewhere - carpets are dry, cloth lining where hood lives is dry and it doesn't happen when I wash it, so at a guess somewhere the water from the hood drains off?

Grateful for any suggestions.

Could it be running in off the roof when you open the drivers door? My DB9 Volante seems to save a little water somewhere around the rain gutter when its raining so it can dribble it down the side of my neck as I get in.

Thanks for that, but unfortunately not - there's no water present let alone visible anywhere inside the cabin, so it's getting to the belt from behind somewhere. Funnily enough my wife's Saab convertible had something similar - took me quite a few weekends to trace it & it was the seal around the metal "tonneau" cover that hides the roof when it's down - removal, clean & reattach with a little silicone cured it 100%

a bit of clarification - the wet bit of the belt is about 2+ feet further on from the bit you first see at the headrest, so it's around about where the actual reel is bolted to the chassis/whatever

IIRC a DB9 owner recently had similar issues

There was somebody recently with a Vantage who had the same problem. He was parking on a slope and water was running up a chassis box section from under the bonnet somewhere into the inside of the car. Could be a design fault. I'll see if I can find the post. /curses PH search engine shutdown maintenance.\

Thanks very much for that - a comprehensive post & another route to explore although subject to rechecking, all carpets are dry. I had a quick look last evening - started to close the roof & stopped halfway (still new to the car so unsure what will happen if roof left that way too long & certainly not getting fingers in the way until roof & cover wedged half open!).

On the roadster the general location of the seatbelt reel is pretty obvious as you can see the run of the belt itself as it goes down. Directly above that location - a water drain that takes a 90 degree towards the rear (through a fillet) so that will be first area to check this weekend - looks like it heads towards the forward drain for the bootlid which would make sense, so there will clearly be some joints, one of which might not be!
