Bowflex Adjustable Dumbells

Looking to get a pair of these (1090's).

Has anyone got any experience of them, and/or know where I can get a good deal on them?

I bought a set a few months ago off a guy on eBay, I'll pm his details if you want, I paid £399 inc the stand (v.handy)?

Personally I think they're fantastic, you do have to slightly modify certain moves as they are quite long but if you want the equivalent of 15+ dumbells in the space of one then these are the fellas, very quick in changing from each weight as well.

I have to be honest I was a little concerned before I parted with my cash and contemplated the smaller set but I'm so glad I bought bowflex and went for the larger set !

I looked into purchasing a set of Bowflex for p90x. I trawled through google for reviews and the recurring thing that kept popping up was that the pins sometimes jammed or that the build quality wasn't that great. People were complaining they would crack, mind you what do you expect if they are dropped .

I think I remember reading that the latest version has redesigned pins which stops the jamming problem. Anyway most people seemed to recommend buying Powerblocks or Ironmasters over the Bowflex ones.

I had a set and they were great - well made, nice handle/grip (size and shape) and so easy to adjust. They took plenty of abuse for several years but one did finally break - though to be fair only when a painter dropped it from approx. 4 feet high onto a concrete drive which did for the pin and cracked part of the cog.
