Hi Rob,
Firstly, love the new picture on your profile the car is positively gleaming, you must have been putting in some polishing time there, looks superb!
Despite a few early problems, it looks like you bought a gem of a V8S.
Also, spotted your post about speed camera detectors etc... I just wondered whether you have any Sky channels as there is a Discovery Home & Leisure channel and they repeat episodes of 5th gear. I mention this because on one recently they tested a jammer and it looked very effective but I can't recall the make/model, did anyone else see the prog?

Hey Kentish
No sky here unfortunately.
I really wouldnt want to snap up a jammer though, they're illegal, and if you did jam a signal and drive past, you just might earn yourself a knock at the door one evening, and possibly have your lovely S taken away for inspection!
Most fines/points are from fixed positions anyway. Anyone here actually want a Jammer?
The Origin B2 seems to the best fixed position GPS out there with all the usual features plus some additional reporting info the others dont have. When Ive recovered from sports pipes and mark adams remap upgrades, I'll need one coz my observation skills are somewhat limited to spotting totty and beer stops, and I know a good system will save my bacon time and again!
Cheers re: the car comments
Had just finished polishing
but, that fateful photo was taken a mere 90 seconds before ALL my problems started, so it leaves me feeling cursed and sour, and needs to be replaced with a better pic! At the next S meet, whose in favour of chipping in and hiring a topless model (woman not a convertible) to pose for photos by our S's
Come on chaps, we're men (mostly
) its our duty!!
The S was resprayed 3 years ago so in pics & from 15 feet looks new. Closer inspection reveals the usual stone chips etc. Id like to follow in V8Smith's footsteps and get the interior redone, Mike sent me pics they are

Hi Rob
Re: Jammers, the one I saw tested on the programme was marketed as having the appearance of an electric garage door opener.
It was also a clever little device as after jamming the radar it will switch off for a short while and will allow Mr Plod to re-test your speed giving you enough warning time to have reduced your speed. The device will just make the radar detector display that there is an error on the first scan then it works fine the second time, so Mr PC takes his machine back to the station to have it checked out I guess??
Of course I frown upon such devices as their use is illegal in the UK but nevertheless it worked very well on the test they did in the programme
Re: your car, don't get disheartened by the problems that you have had, there comes a time when you seem to get one fault occur after another but it's just a matter of time and of course money before you have the car putting a smile on your face again.
Running costs & parts really aren't at all bad when compared with modern motors, we just had the freelander serviced for the first time (new car) and it was almost £300 just for a main dealer service on a petrol engine.

Hey
Thanks for the encouragement mate. hopefully this time next week I'll be enjoying a sorted car while the summer is still here
The garage door opener jammer sounds cool. Post a link if you have one. Are there any S owners that actually have a Jammer? Having said that, who would admit having something illegal here anyway
