We are selling the missus Corsa but it has finance still on it

We need to sell it to pay the finance off but an interested buyer didn't want to buy it with outstanding finance, which I can understand

So how do you get round this or is it a Catch 22?

Never sold a car with finance so not sure what to do

Advice please guys

Just get the potential buyer to pay the finance company with a debit card off directly and give you the balance.

He pays the finance directly and the balance to you.

That makes sense. Will call the finance company tomorrow. Cheers

Yep same as previous posts:

When one of my friends sold his Focus ST earlier in the year the buyer cleared the outstanding finance direct with the finance company on the day he collected the car.

Worked well in that instance as there was still £7.5k left on finance and the car sold for £7.5k, so no other monies handed around just all done direct with the finance co.

I would have assumed you would have already contacted them to send through a settlement figure.

Very important as it can be different than the outstanding balance left on the finance!

As above advice, have happily bought a vehicle by settling the finance and then giving the remainder to the guy selling smile
