I'm off to look at a 4.5 over lunch hopefully and it has everything spiders. How much are a set of these with tyres and where would I get them? And as the car is Midnight Black, would anthracite cost any more?
Also for those of who've done the comparison, whats the different between 17" and 18" handling wise?

18" wheels + tyres are £1400 or so all-in from a dealer.
If you order tyres online, you're talking about £120 or so per corner for something like Proxes. And the cheapest you'll ever get a set of rims for is about £250 (second hand). So, unless you got for 2nd hand tyres, too, you're not going to get any change from £750 (and it'll probably take you a while to find a set of rims that cheap).

The wheels were cheaper than the tyres. Wheels were about £75(?) each from a dealer, plus whatever you want to pay for tyres. I understand the wheels are Tuscan fronts. You can sell the old wheels and tyres to offset the cost.
You need spacers and the turning circle gets even worse but you get used to it. I found I could feel the road texture more through the lower profile tyres but I had Nitrons fitted at the same time so it wouldn't be fair to compare the overall handling (i.e there is no comparison !).

Think the wheels are closer to £140 each from a dealer. And Cptn. Beaky's right... it's Tuscan fronts all round you'll want, and you'll need your steering adjusting a bit (bump stops) or you'll run into problems. Personally, mine didn't need any spacers to fit... think it depends on the age of the car (but I might be making that up!)
And budget another £30 or so for some locking wheel nuts, too (Peninsula can get you a set, Halfrauds won't have a clue - trust me!)

Cool - just gives me an idea of what I'd need to pay if I find the right Cerbera but with the wrong wheels, as most of the ones I like either had the standard wheels or standard lights. Figure it'd work out better to upgrade the wheels, rather than the lights as I'd have a set of track wheels and tyres in the garage

One dealer tried to sell me a car with standard wheels telling me that they were better coz I would only kerb the spiders. Right, he thinks I'm a plonker who cant be careful huh?

but guess what, day 4 of ownership? Yup, kerbed one, luckily only minor, and I was being sooo careful. Bugger

Mind you have kerbed the inside front twice now, both while trying to get milk to the kids before they went ballistic (stopping close to the kerb not hitting it at speed!)
Your spiders were looking rather well polished on Wednesday night though...

But you can order the right McGard nuts from Halfords - you'll need Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee ones (I think), part number 24138.
Just had Spiders & Nitrons fitted by Thames Valley Racetech - top job and has made an enormous difference to the handling. Ride is slightly firmer although it's just a case of adjusting the dampers a click or two if I get fed up with the quality British roads
The rims now retail at £195+vat and they were like rocking-horse s**t to get hold of - supply may have freed up under new ownership though.

Yep... just don't try asking them to figure out the right ones for you, or you'll be there a whole Sunday afternoon and get nowhere (good job it wasn't a Grand Prix Sunday...)
17 is way better than 18.... unless 18's are really light and you've managed to squeeze in larger tyres to compensate for the thinner sidewalls, but then the larger tyres bring the weight back up, IMO...
Go the F1 route, mini alloys and huge treads... wont look good, but she'll grip and move like earth on fire!....

Tannertime is quite right,price has gone upto £195+vat and dont forget to add the money for the centre caps!! not included?? and before someone says it!,the price went up before the russians took over!!different toyo combo tho,235x40x18 front,255x35x18 rear quite close to same rolling radius? £650 for the tyres fitted!! worth every penny looks and feels great

Circumference is just about right with 35mm profile Proxes. It's about 3% out with their 40mm ones.
£195+VAT??? Blimey... that's sure gone up a lot in the last year!
of course the whole 16" - 18" debate is hard to answer...the two tamoras we've had recently have been one on each, can i honestly say one rides better than the other? No, i'm too busy concentrating on reaching for the next gear...can i say which looks better? 18's certainly, but it only takes one little error to make them look a lot worse...and finally what was the first purchase the guy who bought the one with 16"'s on made the minute he bought the car...i leave that to the imagination!!!
having read a few of the topics today on the cerbie i thought i'd contribute. i found out today from dreadnought that the rubbing noise under load could be the tyres rubbing on the arches due to 18" wheels, so you may have to have the ride height adjusted. i haven't checked it yet but i'm about to do so.
