It's a very very popular and big event with the result that accommodation can be hard to find if left too late. Having been a number of times I normally use taxis to get to the show and take a slow walk back to town. Takes a while but it's a non-stop car show and as you approach Vasteras there are lots of places to get a drink and a snack.
Driving there is way too expensive for me as for some reason my Impala doesn't do too many miles to the gallon! Add ferry fares, tolls etc and it easily costs over a grand to take a car. I fly out using (usually) Ryanair who by their way of not actually taking you anywhere where you thought you were going (Stockholm) fly into Vasteras airport which is where the event is held. Five minute cab ride into town and you're there.
