Finding a build slot

I am looking at taking a new car on contract hire for 2 years (Merc C Class) but I am struggling to find one with a panoramic roof and have been told that I will have to get a factory build and this will take about 3 months.
Is there a way to speed this process up or find out how has the next available build slot? Or cancellation?

Retailers have an allocation of build slots for particular model-lines. These slots can be used to build pretty much any spec, and th spec can be ammended to suit a new customer order, but there comes a point just ahead of the car going down the line where the factory have to close the book and build the car.
Sold customer orders are easy to spec and will normally get the retailers first available slot, but unsold slots get specced to suit as many potential buyers as possible otherwise the retailer has a difficult to sell car on his showroom floor. Sadly, the pan-roof is quite expensive and not that popular with fleet or retail customers so there aren't many built for stock.
Any retailer can see what unsold and pipeline units he has in his own goup, and can see what other unsold units are where in the UK and in pipeline, but I don't think they can see anyonee else's build allocation, specc'd or otherwise.

Thank you that I useful to understand. Any ideas new stock is made available? Or available to view in the pipeline? Is it updated at the end of the month?
