Yes, it's this weekend. Dumb planning, but hey, it's the wacky world of the WRC.

After the initial dissapointment about the number of entries I cant wait now! The situation could have been worse, it could have been a round of the PWRC and not the SWRC!

Loeb was fastest in qualifying and like on one stage in Germany was the only person not to get the rain!

Wales Rally GB: Qualifying stage:

1. Sebastien Loeb Citroen Total WRT DS3 WRC2m 22.260s M
2. Petter Solberg Ford WRT Fiesta RS WRC +0.051s M
3. Mikko Hirvonen Citroen Total WRT DS3 WRC +0.872s M
4. Thierry Neuville Citroen Junior WRT DS3 WRC +0.878s M
5. Jari-Matti Latvala Ford WRT Fiesta RS WRC +1.133s M
6. Mads Ostberg Adapta WRT Fiesta RS WRC +1.271s M
7. Nasser Al-Attiyah Qatar WRT Citroen DS3 WRC +1.589sM
8. Ott Tanak M-Sport Ford WRT Fiesta RS WRC +1.818s M
9. Matthew Wilson M-Sport Ford WRT Fiesta RS WRC +2.217s
10. Evgeny Novikov M-Sport Ford WRT Fiesta RS WRC +2.828s M
11. Chris Atkinson WRC MINI Team Portugal John Cooper Works WRC +3.617s
12. Martin Prokop Ford Fiesta RS WRC +4.222s
13. Jannie Habig M-Sport Ford WRT Fiesta RS WRC +10.474s
14. Paulo Nobre WRC MINI Team Portugal John Cooper Works WRC +11.558s

It is, sadly, a shadow of its former self, held way too early in the year. 30 entries is it? That is a shame as it should not be so poorly supported. Doesn't deserve to be such a 'low key' event these days.

Oh for those dark, wet miserable (but highly enjoyable) November days & nights spent trudging for miles through forests to catch a glimpse of a Stratos, an Escort, a Quattro etc etc.

Off to Silverstone hence unable to go see the rally which I would have done had I not already made plans.

Excited now!
Leaving for Hafren on thursday night to sleep in the car ready for Friday stages.
Then off to Builth or LLandovery for food before sleeping in the car at Crychan for the morning stage and a little walk to Halfway for the afternoon.
May even try to race back to the celtic manor. Giving sunday a miss though i think!

i'm off to the Celtic Manor stage. It's not quite proper spectating, but then its not quite a proper rally.

I have done cropton stage in the dark in the past... cloud9

We are staying near Newtown this weekend, so popping down to see the tour of britain in the morning. Anyone know if it would be possible to see the cars at the remote service area?

Running order for tomorrow...

•1 – Neuville (DS3 WRC)
•2 – Hirvonen (DS3 WRC)
•3 – Loeb (DS3 WRC)
•4 – P.Solberg (Fiesta WRC)
•5 – Latvala (Fiesta WRC)
•6 – Ostberg (Fiesta WRC)
•7- Al-Attiyah (DS3 WRC)
•8 – Tänak (Fiesta WRC)
•9 – Wilson (Fiesta WRC)
•14 – Novikov (Fiesta WRC)

Neuville must be praying for raining with all the sweeping he could be doing. He should be even more spectacular on all of the loose gravel!

I also see that Rally GB is staying in Wales for 2013. Personally for me its great as I dont have to travel too far, but its a surprise with all the talk of the event moving up north!

This.

Not worth travelling 100s of miles to see 1/2 hour of action on each stage.

I used to go every year.

Not worth going over the same subject over and over again either. Sadly it is what it is.

Latvala leads Loeb with Solberg in 3rd.

Not likely they don't give a toss about it you be lucky to have 5 minutes on the national news S4C will show the rally but it's in welsh which even for me a welshmen can't understand.

The subtitles are always in English though. I used to watch Ralio this way.

Went to service this evening which was good. If you were not a rally fan you wouldnt know the event was in town with no advertising or directions into town!

Off to Halfway tomorrow, cant wait to finally see the cars in action! Very relieved to see the top crews making it to service, and hear that Steve Perez is still going on the national event in his Stratos!

Come on Ford!

Haven't watched rallying for years - and know very little about it these days.

Looks a bit rubbish - Citroen DS3 vs Fiesta vs Mini?

Motorsport for the McDonald's generation.
