I picked up some bits and pieces from a fella in a car park like you do (Hayley ribs me about it all the time, but strangely dosent complain, pehaps I should worry)
Anyway, back to the topic, I picked up some V8 inlet manifolds with trumpets and injectors, and 2 ECUs and plenum tops and got talking.

The guy has put a 5.0 V8 serp engine into an old shape Nissan Navara body, and by Fuc6 does it rumble!!

He is also after a 3.5 / 3.9 Low compression engine to rebuild and stick a turbo onto!

Anyone got one knocking about in their garage (Adam Quantrill..)

Hes also got a lovely Eldebrock 500 on the top of the V8, and a spare 500 eldebrock too, but I cant buy that ..... can I?

Stu

P.S, If anyone needs to borrow the bits above for fault finding, give me a shout.
Ill be sending one of the inlets and plenums to Blingziga for when he is bored!!

I have an SDi 3.5l engine in the barn gathering dust.

As I have recently extracted another spare, the SDi engine is for sale. It was running when extracted and sounded fine.

It's carburetted so is less suitable for Wedges anyways.

Standard for the SDi is 9.75:1 as I recall. Suitable for mild boost up to 5 psi, or you can add thicker head gaskets for higher boost.

I would think that with a massive intercooler 12 to 15psi can be done without predetination. I know someone with a 10.5:1 rx-8 and he's running 15psi. And he hasn't blown his apex seals out his tailpipe... yet.

Yes OK if you have a modern ECU and ignition with a knock sensor then it will retard/advance as necessary, and you can get away with more boost, I was assuming Lucas the Prince of Darkness and his Distributor of Death ;^)

So you could up the boost by upgrading the ecu and leaving the engine as is?

You could replace LUCASfer altogether. Haltech's come with their own sensors and all the other things you need... ie: loom, software, laptop port etc. http://www.haltech.com/
