Help - What to watch out for when buying a car from eBay?

I'm looking to replace the Merc and have seen one on eBay that fits the bill circa £7,500 cash.
It's a lot of money to lose so I was wondering if anyone had any hints to help me avoid buying a lemon / stolen car?

Ideas like:

Car must have a v5
Only pick the car up from the registered address

That sort of thing.

Look at other bidders, bidding history. You can't see who they are, but you can see if they have many bid retractions. If they do, it's probably a mate who bids things up for them. I will not bid on anything if there is a bidder with more than 1 retraction in a year.
