ok, the quadcopter machines currently need external vision systems for navigation, but i can imagine that changing in the not too distant future!

Very clever. I see what you mean by external tracking. Going by the 'balls' on the craft and the cameras everywhere I should say they use infrared.

If you haven't watch the 'real swarm of quadrotors' video that is very impressive and the capabilities and future potential of these things very, very scary!

The way that thing can balance and correct itself after being pushed like that, is seriously impressive.

Even if it is just for carrying and transporting things, if I saw that running towards me, I'd st myself.
