Has anyone driven around the Longcross test track ?

I've been Stage Commander there for club rallies (amongst other jobs).
The circuit is very straight forward, banked in places with high speed straights - actually quite dull. The interesting bit is the 'snake' which is the handling area. A series of linked turns with crests and dips, it's been used in many TV dramas and some soap operas.
My guess is that you won't be using the concentric circles, test hills or Belgian pave.
If they use the circuit with the snake you'll have lots of fun as IMHO that's the best configuration for this type of event.
Look at google maps for the outline you can see the snake in the south west area (use the map not satellite).

I had an excellent time there, the test track was very good for driving those sort of cars and we did drive through the 'snake' 
Going airborne in the Focus RS during the 'hot' lap was quite scary 
My instructor in the Porsche was Daniel Lloyd who races in the Porsche Carrera cup.
All in all it was a great driving experience and I am now suffering from the post adrenaline rush low.

From the plans shown a couple of months ago there's no industrial, just offices and housing to the North of the M3 and eventually - i.e. after the northern side is finished, the track area will become housing.
The person I spoke to said big luxury houses 'y'know about £5m'.... I laughed and said cheap then for the area. The quizical look back meant they really didn't understand the demographics of the little housing estate over the railway

I see last weekend someone was using Chobham Lane going towards Virginia Water didn't even make it part way round the corner to go over the railway bridge. Just went striaght on through the barrier and took down the phone pole, took off as the ground sloped down to the railway line and into the trees taking the bark off halfway up the trunks.Edited by NormanD on Wednesday 19th September 03:20

I was wondering what had happened. On Monday the "Road Closed" signs were still showing, even though road was by then open. Edited by NormanD on Wednesday 19th September 03:20
