I've just bought a brand new xbox 360 elite headset from ebay but it doesn't seem to be working. The weird thing with it is it doesn't have the connector that has the 3 slots and goes into the bottom of the controller it just has the 1 jack that slots in.

It all looks legit and apparently came from an old elite bundle but I'm just curious as to when they changed the headphone connection.

Heres a pic

I think it's just an early model, my fist xbox had one.

Can you not hear other people or can they not hear you? You've probably already checked but if other people cant hear you have you checked it's not on mute ?

Both, no sound coming out of the headset bar the speaker connecting sound and I've tried recording a message for myself, no sound in or out, just coming out of the telly. Plus i've already checked that it's set for sound to come out of the headset. Only cost a few quid but it must be faulty I guess

They changed them at about the same time the elite appeared, ditching the entire 3-pin design so that you could plug in one of the 360 chat pad attachments at the bottom of the pad and still use the headset plugged into that. Does look like you've got a faulty one though. I've got a wireless one that I don't use anymore that you could have for a few quid.
