Super GT: Whats this for?

Looking at a few snaps of the GT cars on Speedhunters, and I saw this:



What purpose does the fan/turbine right at the end of the muffler serve?

I know a few people sit turbos quite far to the back of the car, but that seems too far to be that.

Looks to be a muffler.

There's a limited engine supply in MotoGP. Stones in exhaust/air intakes = not good
