I wouln't have thought so, but I would make sure I'm standing next to it when they do it, they will need you !. When mine was done, they didn't know how to start it, find the petrol cap & open the boot etc etc, and that garage was recommended by my local main dealer.

all I'd say is little things might be a problem.

For example, the lights often need aligning.. do you want some yts nobber taking your bonnet off ?

so if it goes through no probs fine, if it needs a few things doing to it... do you want them doing them ?

Mine got done 2 months ago.

Needed:

-lights aligning
-rear anti-roll bar rethreading (!)

both done quickly by kerridges. Don't think I'd want local mot place to do it.

You might also have a problem with exhaust emmissions as you hear quiet a lot failing on that due to damaged cats although dealers seem to be able to get around that . Mine has gone through 2 MOT's with melted cats although both times via dealer.

Also I think brake testing can be a problem as most places do this on a rolling road, apparently this can damage the differential on a TVR. TVR freindly MOT places do the testing on a real road with some gadget or other in the car, or so I have been told. Might be balls though.

Where are you based Snowy? I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the direction of a reliable garage if you don't want to go down the dealer route.

Based West Oxon, nearest TVR garage Henley, but we do have a Classic Sports Car Garage on my door step, it's just a pain in the backside either going to Henley, Malmesbury or Stratford, when i have a local sports car Garage, they have worked on my tuscan before, seem to have done a good job. I was just concerned that most TVR's would fail the MoT unless the MoT was performed by a friendly TVR garage...

I used an indy for my last MOT, however they have a good relationship with the local TVR dealership. I had the emission test done, and it passed without a nudge nudge wink wink, if you get what I mean!

My only other suggestion is that you post a new enquiry in the regional forums. Sorry I can't be more help, I'm based ooop north!
