I don't see how the update can be making things hard work - either make certain functions unavailable through the OBD without the key being present, or set off the alarm if the OBD is used while the car is locked!
Fleet owners will have a bit more of a struggle, but surely they should be keeping a key for these kinds of problems anyway?
