It seems from the wheel clamping brigade, having read the latest thread.

Is nothing safe, I have known an ambulance to be clamped, a hearse c/w coffin on board and now a BIB car. So this leaves just the fire lads with the big red lorry then, unless you know different.

At least they will be able to cut the clamp off easier than us!

Frankly, if I get clamped, it will be out with the bolt cutters. If they try and physically stop me its assault.

We can argue about it in court.

I say this with confidence as I am bloody careful about where I park so its very unlikely that I would consider any such clamping action as "fair".

You've just got to be very careful.

For the sake of a couple of pounds on a meter or in a car park, you can save yourself a whole lot of hassle.

With this subject, prevention is really much better than cure..

Stay safe,

get a citroen bx/cx/any with self-levelling suspension, they cant put clamps on these as it wrecks the suspension when the car goes down to 'rest' level....and thats criminal damage isnt it?.

Years ago a mate of mine got his 2CV clammped when in London. Whilst waiting to be declamped he managed to drive out of it without messing with it. Something I'm told only a 2cv can do. He thought this was so cool and he hid around the corner to laugh at the clampers when they turned up. Unfortuneatly he was spotted and arrested ?!! When he stumped up the cash they let him go. They tried to claim he had damaged the clamp even though it was OK.
