Black Alloys.... help!!

As I’m still struggling to not see then as anything other than wheels missing hubcaps, please can you all kindly post pictures of cars that really really suit black alloys and bring me around to the idea.

The only car I’ve seen so far where I managed a half approval was a totally black GTR which really looked the business

Ok to get things going - a few cars I can't picture with anything but black alloys...

Not my cup of tea TBH; they always make the tyres seem grubby by comparison; much prefer black alloys with a polished silver lip. That said, there is a (white) GTR that I've seen going about that has black alloys and it does look good; it's always immaculate as well.

I'm in the "CID car with no wheeltrims" camp and would never paint wheels black.

I have had an R5 GT Turbo whose wheels I sparyed a dark metallic gunmetal greay and thet looked good as you could still see the detail on the wheels. Black wheels only "work" for me with a polished lip and some sort of badge in the middle to show it's an alloy not a missing wheeltrim.

Ahhh now then for some reason grey looks ok to me too providing it's not dark and/or bordering on black. I'm surprised really as it should look like dirty alloys

The new Focus ST looks good with the darker alloys. Not black but a dark gunmetal.

I think it works with my own car, but it was by accident (I didn't intend to use these wheels on this car)

I'm not generally a fan, but I think they can look good with bright primary and secondary colours. The Aventador posted above is a good example. I can't imagine that it would look better with silver coloured wheels.

I'm with the OP, black wheels (& I've had a couple of cars that had them) just seem to lose all the wheel detail.

A polished rim does improve things but not enough in my humble

I'm the other way around - I can't stand silver alloys, they just look like they're trying too hard.

I think black makes the wheels appear to be much smaller - in terms of diameter and depth. Seems odd to me to buy a set of 17's or 18's and make them look like 14's.

Each to their own and all that.
