Cars of the future - 2044
Discussion
Just saw this trailer "Looper" with Bruce Willis in it, saw brief glimpses of the cars/vehicles in it. Do you think there will be hover technology by then? Is the film realistic or just stupid?

Interesting, 31 or so years hence....
Perhaps this thread should be put into the Pistonheads Time Capsule ?
My predictions,
New cars will be predominantly electric, the battery tech having been improved significantly in the last 31 years, there will be a decent charging infrastructure and possibly standard interchangable battery packs for part of the cars capacity.
IC engines will be rare and not connected to the wheels, used as a range extender
They wont hover, requires masses of energy to hover the weight of a car or some kind of magnetic track, wheels work just fine. Hovering soon becomes aviation and that is a different ball park altogether.
Driving will be partially controlled by computer on some roads if not all.
Data downloads will be standard practice, the car will be constanly relaying information.
