Being told to not wear a tie to an interview

Have to ask.
If you were told that an interview was "business casual - no tie or jacket" whould you still wear a tie?
Part of me says that it's an interview for a business/office role and I should wear a tie anyway.
The other part says that to wear one means I've been given one direct instruction and already not followed it.

I think it is easy to put on a suit, harder to still look smart in business casual. I would suggest a shirt that looks smart without revealing a hairy chest, if you have one.

No tie or jacket means if you want the job don't wear a tie or jacket.

I would follow their instruction. Though I genuinely don't think I could work for a company that doesn't allow you to wear a tie :s

But that's just me and my strangeness!

If they ask you not to wear a tie and you turn up with one then they'll think you're either a dipst or a trouble maker.
