Amsterdam day trip...
Discussion
There's a group of us going there on a day trip next month
can anyone recommend any good places - i've had a read up but i thought personal recommendations would be good too.
we're non-drinkers so no pubs etc - though a walk thru the red is still happening! *LOL*
can anyone recommend any good canal tour companies??

As you come out of central station walk across the road and you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to canal tours. They are all the same in terms of price etc.
Go to Ann Franks house, then have an Indonisian Rice table. Its a meal that consists of twelve courses and is delicious. Then just walk and soak up the city.

Not the best idea on a day trip, they'll spend a large portion of their limited time queueing
Not if you book online in advance. A limited amount of tickets are released, but you do need to book very early. We went for a week recently, and couldn't get tickets at the start of our trip.if i was there for a day, i would do a boat trip, then a walk round the red light district, just to say you've seen it.
i thought it was scruffy to be honest,
anne franks house was ok, its just a maze of rooms interconnecting, not surprised she managed to hide for so long!
we had a nice meal from a restaurant just over the road and to the left from the station above a bar.
It was ok but i dont think id bother going back.

its come up on the cheap hence we're going on the day trip thing. P&O got a buy one get one free on a day cruise so its working out at around £35 per person - £10 for parking £5 for day pass public transport and then any extras
none of us are really into the hookers scene - though i'm going to try and get some of the guys to eat some of the brownies etc.
