Car Breakdown Cover Advice Please
Discussion
My car is just coming up to 3 years old so the manufacturer's breakdown cover will cease.
Looking at various companies & The Green Insurance Company seem to offer good value for money for the cover I'm after (home start, roadside repair, national recovery & onward journey cover)- all for £28.80.
My concern is that I've never heard of them (only ever been with the AA & the RAC before) - is the deal too good to be true? Any advice would be appreciated.

My mother has them.
So far only one call out - which cost us £150. To be fair, she'd reversed into a roadside ditch, so it was a tow with a winch, rather than a breakdown. She's convinced the AA would have covered her, I'm not.
Last year she was with Kwik Fit, who seem to be the same product with a different label, and the renewal was £80. They wouldn't budge when the time came round, so she switched; I'd expect the same this year.

If you're in doubt about the cheap company you've found, I'd do the following:
Join TopCashBack (if not a member.)
Use their link to RAC and get the same type of cover you've mentioned, which is £105 with RAC.
Sit back and wait for cashback of £60 to arrive.
Result is the same level of cover but with a better known company, for £45.
