Wish the search function worked on here.

I have trouble opening the drivers door. There may be an issue with the 'pin' on the drivers door which is grabbed by the door latch on the body. It has been packed out with what appears to be a couple of same size washers. The passengers side has none. This has resulted in the pin contacting the body when opening and closing the door and therefore making it difficult to pop open.

How do I remove the pin on the door so that I can adjust its length by removing a packing washer?

It screws into a sliding plate inside the door. There are 2 holes in the flat base of the pin that are I assume for a specific tool to undo it but I just carefully used some self grips on mine when it needed tightening up.

Good information thanks. So I should be able to unscrew the pin and take a pack washer off the back thereby reducing the effective overall length of the pin and clear the bodywork. Unless of course the sliding plate will drop off into the bottom of the door!

The sliding plate is (should be) held in the frame inside the door.

Haven't had chance. Domestic priorities took over, you know the story.
