Hope they find the scum that left this poor guy to die at the side of the road last night.

If the collision did happen sometime after 9pm as the article suggests and the cyclist had no lights or anything then the motorist in question is probably giving him/herself more trouble by not coming forward. We've seen no action taken many times in cases where it's quite acceptable to suggest the motorist couldn't see the cyclist, which could've been the case on a road like that after 9pm. Even if the motorist wouldn't have faced charges they'll still end up in front of the beak for running off.

Cyclist had lights ( which were still lit three hours after the crash) and a high viz jacket on...Plank.
I know that split second decision to keep driving has been made, but he really should have stopped and turned round.
But if you are any type of human there is no way you can just leave another person to lye at the side of the road injured.
I know from experience, 12yrs ago when I was 15 I was cycling round the lanes and a Golf hit me head on as he was on my side of the road.
He never stopped and left me, I was very lucky and my helmet saved me, it was cracked through the middle, all I had was cuts, bruises and a sore head.
When I finally got home with a very mangled bike, the police went on a search but never found anything.

More years ago than I care to remember a drunken chap in a Moggy Minor drove into the back of me whilst I was waiting to turn right. I was on a small motorbike having not long passed my test. I was launched backwards over the car, apparently leaving a lovely dent in the roof. I never saw the damage to the car so don't know if it was driveable but the guy stopped.
He also came around the next day to my house (still living with parents) to apologise for his stupidity. I believe he got banned (deservedly) but I still had huge respect that he came round to see how I was and to apologise. I think we were both lucky it didn't end rather more badly (I just had bruising).
