For those of us not fortunate enough to have a team in the Champions League.

UK teams playing this week:

Maritimo vs Newcastle 18:00 ESPN
Young Boys vs Liverpool 18:00 ITV4
Tottenham vs Lazio 20:05 ITV4

Could also be a decent game between Inter Milan and Rubin Kazan. Kick off is at 20:05 on ESPN if your interested.

Those of you with a team playing would you like to see your team play a full strength or weakened team (due to it being a "second rate" competition)?

How could UEFA change the competition to enthuse supporters to rate it higher?

Presumably you will be welcoming the teams departing the ECL at the group stage here? I support United and have a nasty feeling that I may need to get the lie of the land....
If so, please be gentle with newcomers. cool

I'm sure the fans used to such ITV4 tournaments like Tottenham Hotspur will settle us in if the unthinkable happens again.

More than welcome if it happens.

It is a dream of mine this season haha. But tbh I think you'll get out of the group.

Looks like Liverpool are taking a second string over along with the kids.

Possible side:

Liverpool (4-3-3): Jones; Wisdom, Carragher, Coates, Enrique; Henderson, Sahin, Suso; Downing, Pachecho, Assaidi.

Quite like the look of that, fingers crossed they'll be good enough as Rogers seems to speak highly of Young Boys club.

Should make interesting viewing tonight, anyway, watching players most of us haven't seen much of.

Agree with that, curious to see Sahin and Assaidi.

Where is Doni?

"I'm one of the players with the most experience on the field and of course, I will try to lead the team," he told a pre-match press conference in Bern.
Looks like the players have an idea on who will start tonight then....

Likewise, and you can also add Pacheco, Suso and maybe Ngoo to the list.

The rumour about Doni is that hes gone back to Brazil for personal reasons but is still contracted to the club on a very nice wage (for him).

Have to admit i cant see Inter beating Rubin, Inter are lucky to even be in the group stage.

Definitely! At the moment we are poor/under achieving but we do have some quality lurking behind the scenes so maybe in a year or to we may look reasonable again.
