Ok.. I'm getting a quote thru a well known insurer that rhyms with Scchhhmadmiral..

I was previously insured with this company and was involved in a crash (non fault) which they are still processing.

The quote is for an E46 M3..

I've had 2 online quotes, with the exactly the same information inc same name, address, accident and speeding ticket history etc..

The difference between the quotes is my Date of Birth.. ie, one recognises my account and retrieves all of my previous history.. The DOB was Jan 76, which is correct. This quote was circa £1050

The 2nd quote uses a DOB of July 1976.. and to my surprise is £300 cheaper, even though its exactly the same information..

Anyone got some explanations as to why this is ?

Put your DOB a single day different, call up to buy the quote and when they are running through it tell them you changed your DOB by one day as it wouldn't quote you otherwise. They will/should price match.

I got a friend to do this when I found him a cheap quote by altering his DOB by 1 day. They price matched.

Don't blame you for doing it, but it's still obtaining goods by deception. Fraud. But who cares?

Just don't get caught.
