Hi All,

Looking at getting back into Tiv ownership again, but this time a Tamora.

The values seem to be rather low when compared to the T350 and Tusc (MK1). Why is this?

Are they seen as the 'ugly duckling' of the range? I quite like 'em!

Cheers,

C.

I think the design never really took off with customers.

I remember chatting with Ian (long term TVR salesman at Castle TVR before he left) about this very subject
and he said that it just never seemed to get people interested. I think there was also a problem getting demo
vehicles, but not sure on that...

If I had space for a second TVR, I'd be buying this - http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/4226538.htm - and treating it to a 4.5 super-sports conversion. Complete bargain they are.

I think they're great cars, but my one thought is; you never see anyone converting a T350 into a Tamora ...

Beauty is in the eye of the..........biggrin
It`s fair to say the Tamora looks 100% better in the fiberglass than any photo, they are so rare just don`t see to many, the prices can only go one way thumbup

Now that would be great fun to drive, I'm only hearing good things about the 4.5 supersport engine.

I was almost swayed by a very sweet looking T350t a couple of months ago but I have seen the error of my ways and will be sticking with the Tam. They're fantastic cars, massively under-rated (until driven), rare and get masses of attention. They definitely look far better in the metal/plastic than in some photos and the right colour combination makes a big difference. Can honestly say I've never heard a negative comment about mine from anyone.

Oh, and they don't half handle well biggrin

Obviously looks are subjective. I mean, some people genuinely like the look of VW's!

But, general concensus is that the Tamora isn't the most attractive TVR they built, and this more than anything else is keeping values down.
Hard to argue against when you consider numbers produced and values for what is an almost identical mechanical package and almost identical inside and out between the axles (save the roof) when compared to the T350.

If your personal asthetic compass tells you a tamora is a stunning design, then you are in a fortunate position, because you can grab a car bargin!

I personally dismissed the tamora after looking at pictures, even though I really wanted a convertible. But when I saw one in the plastic, it grew on me. It's no T350, but I think I could have lived with it though obviously in the end I took a different path.

That said, there are ways to make the back of a Tamora far more attractive that don't involve a rear end transplant, if you're prepared! smile

Completely underrated, completely brilliant, the looks, the handling and the sound from the two Howitzers is just pure evil
