Ok excuse my ignorance but all this talk about having your cat on or off, I just don't know what they are!

catalytic converter - its a part of the exhaust system, that cleans up the exhaust fumes in order to pass emissions regs for MOT etc...illegal not to have one...but sounds good/more power if you replace it with a piece of straight through pipe - called a cat replacement pipe or CRP for short

So what DO you do at MOT time? Stick it back on? Slip the tester a couple of notes!? (Seriously..?)

And what happens if you get a tug from the BiB. Is it an automatic rectifier/producer?

prior to MOT time you stick it back on.

If you get stopped and they perform an emmissions test then you say 'oooohhh sorry officer, my cat must be faulty - I will get it fixed ASAP' ...they give you a 7 day rectification thing...you go down the MOT station with the cat in place...sorted

My mot station puts a spare cat on for me for the test then replaces the decat for me to drive home
