Visited family near Denia in Spain in August in our VW Passat Estate 2.0. TDI SEL. 500 miles - awesome roads - specifically the AP 68 from Bilbao to Zaragoza and the A23 from Zaragoza to Valencia. Very easy driving - more use of Cruise Control than in the previous 5 years! And only cost less than 40 Euros in tolls. Did it in less than 8 hours, and my young son wasn't even bored. Will do it again...

A friend's parents have a villa in Adsubia - about 5 miles out of Oliva via Pego.

We - my friend and I - drove Manchester area to Newhaven, sailed to Dieppe then had the first night in Rouen; the second night was spent in Carcassonne after a visit to/diversion via the Millau Viaduct (good to say "I visited that!!" smile ), and we got to Adsubia on the third day via the Pyrenees (the first 100 miles took 4 hours - ouch! - but by goodness was it scenic smile and we found a lovely restaurant in an abandoned railway station in Bourg Madame for lunch). My wife flew out on the third day of "the big drive out" and it took her about 5 hours from Bolton to Valencia...

1500 miles in 3 days? In a Montego nutshehesmile .

We managed to drop in on the the Rally des Remparts on the way back - as well as driving up the Mulsanne Straight - which was interesting for all the right reasons smile .

Got itchy feet now...

Did similar trip a couple of years ago, but found the motorways in mid Spain rather boring, but great if rapid progress is required.
