Lol thanks for the encouragement! Any reason why not t-bar? I like the idea of those. Do they have more body roll?
A guy I knew took me out in his early t-bar turbo and it felt underpowered and flexible.I went to look at a GTS hardtop and it was at the back of a forecourt and late in the day so was given a comparative drive in an early t-bar. I thought it was crap and said that if that's what I can expect from the car I came to see, forget it'.
So they brought the GTS out. Stunning, fast, composed, brilliant.

Right, now looking for tin tops! I went to look at a GTS hardtop and it was at the back of a forecourt and late in the day so was given a comparative drive in an early t-bar. I thought it was crap and said that if that's what I can expect from the car I came to see, forget it'.

Basically unless you typed the OP using your mum's pants as a ball gag while wearing your pet dog's un-cured skin as a waistcost you aren't mad. That is the standard clinical test they use in mental hospitals unless you arrive driving a Suzuki X90.
I used my mk2 MR2 for year round commuting for seven years and it was fine.
Before that I'd used my mk1 MR2s for years, with no problems other than a wet seat in the T-Bar until I fixed the seals with silicon grease. I didn't really notice any dynamic differences between the mk1 tin-top and mk1 T-Bar, but that may have been because of all the structural rust.

I'm very close to selling my sensible fiesta to go and buy an mr2. Am I doing the right thing or being an idiot? Also looking at other 90s jap mad machines. Talk me out of it. And yes it's my only car!
Reckon it seems pretty sound and sane to do what you are saying. It'd be madness to sell a good MR2 for a boring fwd Fiesta.Riknos said:
Do it x100. Have you driven one yet?
I'm assuming you're quite young - get insurance quotes on a Turbo from someone like Sky or Flux insurance, you'll be surprised how cheap they are to insure - definitely worth buying.
You can go back to sensible Fiestas when you have kids
No I haven't driven one yet, will I be happy? Fiesta is my first car. Tell me good things. Also above two posts very helpful and amusing, thanks chaps.I'm assuming you're quite young - get insurance quotes on a Turbo from someone like Sky or Flux insurance, you'll be surprised how cheap they are to insure - definitely worth buying.

Don't let anyone tell you that it's madness to have an Mr Deuce as your first RWD car either. Like any other it has its limit and with sensible road driving you'll probably never find that limit. I had a Rev 1 MR2 (non turbo) as my first RWD car and I didn't kill myself to pieces. It will step out in the wet on occasion but so will any RWD car.
Go for it. Performance bargain are the turbos!
