Need some inspiration for a friends car.
He lives in central London, walks to work, currently has no car. The car will be for weekends away, trips to Bristol & Manchester. No wife or kids, but a four seater or 2+2 would be preferable. Car will be living on the street.
Budget is £8K, lets say £7K so there's a £1K fighting fund for the first service/MOT & a set of tyres.
We are thinking something modern classic. Maybe a 70's or early 80's Merc. Preferably something fairly depreciation proof. He has previously shown interest in a Porsche 924S & an Alfa Coupe.

Dolly Sprint, Triumph 2500PI, Rover P6 they'd all be pretty cool IMO and easy/cheap to run and maintain.He lives in central London, walks to work, currently has no car. Early classic RR.
If they want more sporty how about a classic Mustang or a something like a Trans Am/Camaro, they'll all seat 4.
Porsche 924 is a very good shout.
I think this looks great - How hard can it be to include a shot of the front of the car in the advert though!

Anything that clonks can usually be easily and cheaply fixed. Engines are old school, but again are cheap and easy to repair or replace.
