Seriously considering one of these;
Apparently the lightest electric vehicle available.
2kW motor, range 6 miles, max speed 20mph, 2 hour re-charge and weighs 5.5 to 8kg
If they can get 2kW out of something that small, scale that up to engine-bay-size and you could have something quite brutal...
Is this the future? Or should it have a quadruple diesel turbo under there?
I like the idea because, as the developer says, it's that last mile of your journey on public transport that is the issue (unless you're carrying a weeks groceries, or taking 3 dogs for a walk). A personal transportable vehicle seems like a good idea...?

If you need to be able to take it on public transport, I dare say you can get electric folding bicycles these days.

Is it any good? I've been vaguely thinking about getting one for commuting. but upgraded they're great!!
I have increased mine from 48v to 60v and it now does 35mph on the flat which is great, im happy with that.
next upgrade is going to be the controller.. the standard one in only 35a which gives really miserable acceleration, so ive spotted one that can dump 150a peak and 65a continuous into the motor... that should speed things up a little ( acceleration )
once ive done that ill increase the voltage to 72v which will increase my top speed to about 40mph.
i use it for all the little trips i make here and there locally, as well as commuting, including purchase and all other direct associated costs.. its working out at £16 per month to run it
considering a bus-pass costs £10.50 per week, i call it win win

I saw these and thought they were a better idea than the ludicrously expensive segway, and the beloved C5 (too low for safety), and thus nearer to a useable option.

Despite these things being very cheap for a 50cc, they aren't as cheap as free.
