As the air filter housing in my Griff is cylindrical but the underside inlet is flat how do I decide whether I have the "round or square" type? Need to change as the underside is covered in what feels and smells like grease and road dirt. (4 year old Griff but only 12k miles)
I have been quoted 22.75 + VAT by a non-franchised dealer. Is that a fair price or can you I get one mail order cheaper. Tried Demon Teeks but does anyone have the K&N part number?

They are supposed to be covered in grease! Some airfilters are designed that way!

You're kidding me? Its a foam filter and if I look underneath behind the number plate it seems like road dirt and grime has covered some parts of the foam but others look dry and clean enough. Any ideas where I can get one?

There supposed to have oil on them. K&N filters have oil on them also. It keps the crutons in place when they get sucked up.

The air filter I use on the 520 is twice that but the same size. It's fair.

I was under the impression you could clean them out with warm soapy water, (detergent) and when they are clean you spray grease back on them.
Am I off the mark here?

Raven told me you can do that but it is not really worth the mess and the oil has to be special type got from K&N. They advise replacing in less than the 12k miles increments and so I am going to renew mine for their price of 26 pds.
