Hello guys,
first i have to say "SORRY" to all who are waiting for a copy off my S4,S4s,V8 Manual-CD.I start sending all copies next week. The reason for the delay was my holiday.I've been for 4 weeks in Scotland.
Now i got another question.I got a problem with my air condition. It doesn't work.
I checked the Dryer, the show glass seems to be full,i also checked the Pressure switch, seems to be ok.
I also touched both lines which are connected to the Compressor, one line is a little bit warm and the other line is only a little bit cold.
Is the compressor dead or the system empty?

I had the same problem on my S4s ,i had been away for a month and when i tried the a/c it was not very cold .i did the usual checks and although my drier appeared to be full it was in fact very low i had it refilled and checked for leaks and its been fine since ,i think the moral of the story maybe that if you want a/c then you have to use it regularly otherwise the seals start to shrink and allow the refridgerant to leak pass, the oil in the system helps keep the seals supple and maintain the system non leakiness(made up word). But why on earth Lotus put the recharge points under the tray i dont know ! Pretty easy to get to and only a few bolts to gain access (12 i think).Hope this helps

Can anyone host the manuals? Volunteers? Otherwise, this is gonna be an email monster. My email account won't take anything over 5 megs in size per file, so unless it is split to that, it won't work for me. I suspect other accounts will be the same.

For your AC issue, if the compressor is dead, you might not see many bubbles. I would hook up some guages first and see what is happening.

Hi,
there are no bubbles on the glass. The glass is completly filled with refrigerant. You can't hear the clutch of the compressoer working and there is no change of the rpm's at idle.

Does sound like you are not pumping any refridgerant there. Start the car, AC on, thermostat switch on coldest setting. You should be able to see the compressor pulley engaged, I think. Moving the thermostat from cold to warm, you should hear a click and slight change in engine RPM. If that is not happening your pump/clutch is not engaging, which could be from any of a number of causes including no/low refridgerant level, wiring, bad clutch.

If it is the same as on an SE/Non-SE, it is a Sanden Corp SD-508. Try the paper catalogs at the auto parts stores.

I can host it but I am constantly going over my bandwidth allottment and, of course, am already over it this moth as well. If I can get donations of a couple bucks from anyone who might download it, I will host it. If that flies with everyone, I can take paypal at lotus@ix.netcom.com
