European Breakdown Cover

Ok so was just renewing with the AA for the Ring and Spa trip when was asked for an extra £110 because the Griff is 16 years old so policy came in at £280
Complete piss take so told them where to go, any suggestions on alternatives would be appreciated?

The ADAC will do you annual cover for less than £100 which includes the UK. Have a look here:

There are no restrictions on the age of the vehicle that I'm aware of. I believe the AA is the ADAC's partner company for the UK.

I'm a member of ADAC following a Stelvio trip earlier this year. On a recent Sunday TVRCC outing my throttle cable snapped and I called on the ADAC to help me home. I was about 75 miles from home. the Rescue truck (AA) took 4 hours to get to me, then the AA wouldn't confirm my level of cover to the recovery company. In the end they dropped me 10 miles further away at a Premier Inn with the advice get a room!!!. All ADAC would confirm is that there is a limit of 200 euros to get me to the nearest garage. Yet if I was in Italy, Germany, France etc then they'd bring my car home!!!
Moral for me was ADAC for abroad and now RAC for UK. Seeing as The AA wouldn't even take me to a garage I'm not ever going near them.

I get `free` euro cover with my bank. (Free meaning I pay a tenner a month for mobile insurance, will making facilities and other stuff but car cover as well.)

If that's with Barclay's (as mine is) I'd check the policy as it only covers cars less than 11 years old, unless it's changed in the last couple of years
