What garden Fruit/Food/Veg can be sowen in Winter?
Discussion
As per the title, a gardener in the family is buying her first house and is thrilled about the garden and gardening opportunity - what can be sowen(sp?) in winter which can grow over winter and possibly be eaten in winter?
Id like to grow a few something or others myself. Suggestions most welcome!

Under cover - cavallo nero, mizuna, rocket and winter gem lettuces.
Watercress is another option - just root a packet of John Hurd's organic (available at Waitrose) in water, then plant these in compost, in pots, standing in water.
However this year, all this really needed to get going by the end of August as it's already looking too chilly.
As for sowing anything outside to harvest before spring - forget it.
