Why you should do the right thing..

I sold my car last week, and had to pick up one of the kids last night in our motorhome (22ft+).
Had to manouevre around a tight car park, which I managed to do to a point, but having done a 3 point turn and rolling forward with a bit of right lock, I turned to sort out my 2 boys fighting in the back, and I guess my left rear swung a little to the left, and I felt a little bump that I assumed was a kerb I was close to.

Anyway, I stopped and looked and saw a new Audi with a little scratch on the front bumper. I examined it and although it was fairly minor and no damage to my bus, and I wasn't even 100% it was me, I thought I had best do the right thing and leave a note.

A little later I got a call from the owner - it was his wife's car, a teacher at my daughters school, who is 29 weeks pregnant and was rushed into hospital that day, hence her car being left there late in the evening when I picked my daughter up. He thanked me for the note and explained he'd had a really bad day and on seeing the note it had given him back a bit of faith. He confirmed that the scratch hadn't been there before, as the car was only bought by them last week. I said that I would sort it out, and he was so happy and thankful. No need to go through insurance, I think it will polish out and I know a couple of bodyshop paint technicians, so should be good as new.

And because of this karma I managed to find my perfect car today out of the blue, and now have a lovely car sat on the drive....

My 2 year old found a mobile phone, which I traced the owner and gave it back. She was very thankful but despite her revealing pictures on the phone didn't provide me with anything more than a handshake. :/

Not really anything special however I gave a homeless bloke an unopened packet of 10 JPS this morning because, for no reason at all, he said 'good morning' as I walked passed him.

He didn't ask for money, ciggies or anything. It was just a cheery 'good morning'. So I gave him a packet of ciggies.

He then said 'thank you'. Which made my day as he could easily have taken them & not said anything.

Doing the right thing? Who knows. However I felt it wouldn't do any harm to give him the packet. So I did.

I saw an old school friend in the town centre yesterday. He clearly wasnt doing too well, out of a job and having trouble with his Mum. He needed bus fare to get to his Dads to I gave it to him (not that im flush myself). He asked for my number to arrange pay back but of course i refused!

Today my car sold...

Definitely the right thing to do. After a few more packs of ciggies and a decent harsh winter they'll be one more park bench available come March

£300 later including a chunk for the hire car I'd probably not bother next time.

You're probably not serious about this, but it's still harsher than that winter. It's reality for the bloke. Karma is watching this thread, mind you.

Cleaned my boss's car out for him a year or so ago and found almost £100 in notes under the seats, in the doorpockets etc. Wondered for a half second about pocketing it but gave it to him. He replied that I shouldn't have bothered as he'd never have known. I did win a similar amount on a scratchcard the following week though and felt it was Karma.
And well done to the OP, definitely the right decision.

I bought a kitchen knife set at a shop once, the lad under charged me by about £15. Of course I said nowt but after 5 mins I said to he ther half I wasn't happy as I wouldn't want someone doing that to me & the lad might get not trouble or have his wages docked.

So I went straight to the car, put the shopping in the boot & drove home.

Not before curbing my new alloy at the car park barrier mind.

Karma belongs in the big ol' heap of ste that I don't believe in. But it's a nice idea & makes for a better person so I roll with it

Had dinner at a local restuarant and when paying, the waitress fluffed the card payment, cancelling the transaction part way through, handed me the receipt and wondered off.

I had a feeling she'd messed up so checked the receipt rather than my usual stuff it into the wallet where it sits for the next few months. I let the waitress know and paid correctly, avoiding leaving the staff to make up the shortfall (as I assume happens).

Rather than some wonderful happenings in Karma's returning of my good deed, both the misses and I had the sts!

Oh I am sorry, but that made me chuckle a bit!

I don't believe in anything air fairy, mythical or religious, except for karma. Every time I see someone do something stty I say to myself that karma will get 'em, and that makes it better.
