did anyone see the start of the new wheeler dealers, they bought a gardner douglas cobra built 10 years ago but not iva d it had i think a 6.3 ltr chevy motor. what surprised me was that they said it would nt go through because of emmisions and therefore put smaller jets in carb then fitted a twin cat ehaust system on to bring it under .02 co2 then when finished and past they got a 12 plate registration number. to me a few things didnt add up?

I suppose if they can prove it was all new at the time of purchase, even 10 years ago, and has only one refurbished component then I can't see why they culd not get a brand new registration??

Something to do with engine age was the emissions problem, over on the cobra club the talk is that brewer smoked the original engine on the test drive as it had not been run in
seems to make sense as it originally had a 6.3 in it and now has a new 5.7!

I didn't understand why it already had a plate on it when they bough it but still had to put it through IVA. Also wondered if they'd already bought it when Brewer said 'alwight if I take it for a spin geezer' then proceeded to smoke the tyres to death and lock all the wheels up at speed seeing if the brakes work.

A car program which changes the engine and omits to inform the viewers is a continuity error of great proportion.

I took Brewup for a spin in my car once. Made him require the assistance of his producer to help him out of the car and remove the vomit from his jacket!

Nice! At Brands Hatch I had a lady passenger who HELD sick in her mouth rather than ruin my crash helmet. Cool as a cucumber!

Despite my best efforts...I still end up watching this. Starved of car related stuff I suppose. Anyhoo...there are always endless continuity slips/omissions on this show - swapping out an engine seems a minor one wink Have yet to watch this episode so I'll keep an eye out for the missing CCs.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.....

...and hearing that Mr B trashed a car comes as no surprise, the bloke has no mechanical sympathy whatsoever.

Well yes; and K2RUM is in 'pre-zipper' finish.

Bloody satisfying story though!

Just watched the program and can't see anything untoward myself? Anyone got a link to the current advert for it?

I've generally defended Brewer when the ubiquitous Wheeler Dealer bashing thread comes around but in this one he really does make himself look like a tool, flat spotting all 4 wheels to prove the brakes work, really.

wheeler dealers bought my mates E type jag , the handbrake didn't work so they wouldn't let "mr brewer" drive it until it was fixed, the helper mechanic paul came down and the car was in my workshop until near midnight the night before "the deal" not so much as a mention or a thank you."WILL THAT BE CASH TODAY MIKE"!!!

What makes me cringe is when China uses the old rusty bolts to refit the bits they have had painted/chromed/replaced.

We need to remember that it is a TV program for ENTERTAINMENT. They pass on a few facts or tips which make it seem educational but education doesn't sell. Smoking tyres and acting like a prat sells programs.
