Had to post this up, normally I would ignore it but for some reason, it's totally riled me....not a friend if mine just an old school mate

2 facts u fking cyclists need to remember. 1 is u are pedestrians using ur feet to get around so use the fking pavement like every other . 2 is u don't pay road tax or insurance to be on the roads so If u get in my way I will run u the fk over with a smile on my face, do next time u cyclists put on ur spandex remember to use a pavement or risk being mowed the fk down. The buzz of the Olympics was great for cyclists but I don't pay £750 a year in insurance and tax to be stuck behind some 50 year old who can't make it up the hill past Lego land.... Rant over u fking ssss

Grrr witty replies needed....

Hilarious! Reference to road tax (or lack thereof) is certainly needed!

Bugger it, i'd be tempted to report it to the police. That's a direct threat to cyclists. Having been passed way too close by a similar **** tonight, this is exactly the kind of crap I don't want to read. Do these mongs realise how little margin for error they are leaving? I don't usually get so wound up, but having my life put in danger so some inbred **** doesn't need to be held up for 2 minutes.

I usually hate posts like this.

I love it when the intellectually malnourished get their rant on. I make an effort to be polite, or ignore them on my Facebook friends list, but sometimes they just prove too easy a target.

Witty? No. Appropriate, and guaranteed to cause hilarious impotent dork-rage as he flails for a counter argument*? Yes.

or possibly:

Whilst you're doing something constructive with your life, he rants on facebook and wonders why nobody important ever agress with him. Who loses here?

I wonder if i'll feel as sanguine in a few months as I do now...I'm a newbie but had my first taste of someone skimming my elbow whilst his passenger shouted 'you shouldnae be oan the fkin road!' last night (Glasgow) and I contented myself with shouting 'you fat c u next tueeeeeesssssddddaaaaayyyyyyy' (obviously I didn't say Tuesday) at the departing vehicle, because I'm glib and witty and always ready with an Oscar Wilde-worthy quip, ha.

I found it quite funny in a way but I wonder if I will still find it funny after the millionth time?

Odd that it attracts so much hate in a way frown

First off I am not 50, in fact I am not even 40 (for a few weeks), and secondly if your mate drives a pickup and looks for all the world like he travels a lot and tarmacs drives for a living I would be grateful of his number or address.............

Not witty at all, but.....

The use of the pavement has not been an option for cyclists since the 1870's

http://www.bikehub.co.uk/featured-articles/cycling...

....and this, from the Highway Code...

Rule 64
You MUST NOT cycle on a pavement.
[Laws HA 1835 sect 72 & R(S)A 1984, sect 129]

Anyone up for a bit of 'Critical Mass' action between Windsor and Ascot?
